lovely links: who do you dress for?

While reading this by Elaine of Clothed Much and this by Carol of In Pursuit of Pretty Things,  I was reminded that the whole goal of this blog is to learn to dress like me. True, I'm striving for a more polished image. But in the end, I'll be the same ol' me. The only difference will be that I'll feel more confident and enjoy the everyday pleasure of looking put-together and feeling great. :)
Reading these two posts reminded me to dress for me: to choose things that fit me and flatter the shape I have, not the lanky model in the magazine; to choose clothing and jewelry that make me happy; to choose items that suit my lifestyle and personality.
(Wow - I just noticed how many times I used the word "me" in this post. Sorry! Third-person would be even weirder, though). :)

  1. Third person would definitely be weird! I didn't even notice how many times you used "me". It's interesting you bring this up. I just read an interesting article on IFB about blogging and WHO we blog for (http://heartifb.com/2012/05/21/man-fluence-a-single-girls-guide-to-blogging/). I think it goes along well with my post about blogging anonymously.

Anyway, what I'm trying to explain at 6:30 in the morning before caffeine is that even when we are dressing for ourselves we still have an audience to prepare for. I think you are doing a great job keeping true to yourself while polishing up! And all of your points are spot-on. If a trend doesn't work for me, then I need to avoid it. If it's impractical to own white pants, then why waste the money?

OK, stopping now! Happy Wednesday! :D

  2. There is nothing wrong with selecting items and styles that you look! I think it's a great to try new things but in the end, if you don't feel comfortable...then you know it's not for you! OK so is the GFC feature new? If so...I am joining ;)

  3. Thanks for joining up, Bessie! I tried adding the GFC feature before, but it kept disappearing for some strange reason. Looks like it's sticking around for now. :)

  4. There's nothing wrong with saying me especially when talking about your style! :)

  5. Toby Keith said it was alright to talk about "my me I" so it's all good ... ;o)
