I decided to increase the color fun and wear my new sweater. I love the cheery green hue and that it is made up of different stitches. The one thing I'm a little iffy about is the fit -- I'm considering introducing it to my dryer for a little shrinkage. I feel the torso is a bit baggy, and the sleeves a little too long.
I've been on a green and red kick lately (despite the strange look I got the last time I wore the combination), so I added red jewelry to top off the look.

Do you agree with my rationale? What rules do you follow when you play with color?
My only rule when playing with color is that if I look ridiculous in the mirror I take it off! (Also, I don't wear colors I hate.) But I'm more colorful in my head than in life, so you might take that with a grain of salt...
ReplyDeleteGreat rules, Erin! Thanks for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteLoving the green sweater but I agree that some shrinkage would make it fit a little better :) And those Amirta earrings! Lovely! Hmmm rules when playing with color - I like using colors that work well together - if you check out the color wheel you can see that colors opposite each other work well together :) Wendy from wendyslookbook did a great video on it! Also I don't like wearing colors that don't suit my skin tone hehe :)

I love those bangles and that's cute sweater! If I have one bright color I try to even it out with other neutral colors.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads-up on the video! I subscribe to her Youtube channel but haven't checked it for a while. Going to take a look at that. :)
ReplyDeleteI love those Amrita earrings too, but I don't wear them much. I should, though. :)
I like the idea of making a bright color the focus by keeping everything neutral. Going to have to try that out with this sweater ... :)
ReplyDeleteCute outfit! I usually play it safe and only use two different colors if one is in the pattern of the other, but you are rocking these two shirts! They look great : )

ReplyDeleteI really love this outfit! And I'm jealous you can fit into boys' shirts! Guess I need to start checking out the men's departments for some pieces....

Gorgeous sweater, and I love those earrings :)
ReplyDeleteThat button up is so fun! I just love the colors!
ReplyDeleteLove the sweater, its such a great color and plays up the striped shirt perfectly!
ReplyDeleteThe one thing I don't like about boys' clothing is that it's extremely boxy, but that's not a problem if it's a layering piece. :) Good luck scouting out the men's department! I like the boys department because the prices are often better. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jas! I love them but don't wear them much, trying to change that!
