Do you ever have one of
those weeks? You know, those weeks in which you realize several days after the due date that you needed to post your assignment online; in which you feverishly prep for an in-class exercise, only to figure out that it's really scheduled for next week and you have a little more time. And let's not forget this morning ... I showed up a bit late to aikido class and it turned out I had to take the instructor's place. Which is interesting to do when it's 6 a.m., I haven't had my coffee, went to sleep later than I should have the night before, and didn't sleep well in the first place.
I wish I could say that midterms are eating my brain, but I haven't really had my midterms yet.
I picked out this outfit thinking I needed to be in front of the class today. Wearing some jewelry always gives me confidence, so I added a colorful necklace and a pared-down arm party.
I broke the pearl bracelet during class, while I was putting on my blazer. :( More proof that this blazer is a size too small for me!

@Kileen - I love both stripes and blazers, so this blazer will be well-loved. :)
ReplyDelete@dotty - Thank you! I'm trying harder to accessorize thoughtfully and take simple outfits one step further. :)
eally pretty blazer you got, and that bracelet is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI like that necklace! Definitely. Accessories are the best way to make an impact. That, and lipstick.
ReplyDeleteI had one of those weeks ... I have them a lot.
IRYC (in response to your comment): Seriously... just think that I've done most of the research for you. You and I probably have about the same complexion, and this color will look amazing on you. It will on everyone.
But honestly, if you want to look polished, professional and chic, lipstick is going to do it for your face, and overall, it will add a lot more of a pop of color to your face, and make you more radiant and beautiful. Lipstick functions as the same way a pair of shoes do; they finish off the look and instantly add a chic element and put-together effect to someone's appearance. Nothing has more impact than lipstick and the shoes. If you haven't ventured into it because ones you've tried are too drying, you haven't gotten the right moisturizing formula. This formula is a dry one because it's long wearing, but if you top it with lip balm, it's not bad. Try Revlon's Lustrous line... they're nice and moisturizing, and they're not too expensive.
Also, if you don't feel comfortable with bold color, try something simple like a peachy nude pink or a soft pink that looks good against your skin tone. If you think it's too bold, blot it with a tissue for more of a stain, and then top it with Burts Bees tinted lip balm (not shimmer), and you're good to go. Hope that helps!
