The day before I wore this outfit, it was gray and gloomy all day. With that in mind, I picked an outfit in sunny hues for the next day. Turns out, the next day was bright and lovely! But who doesn't mind a little extra sunshine?
I don't wear this top much, but every time I do, I appreciate anew the little patterns in the stripes.
I just read a great children's book called "Crunch" by Leslie Connor. The author posits a world very much like ours, except there is a nationwide fuel shortage. This strands the main character's parents far away, and he and his siblings - ages 6 to 18 - must stick together until their parents return. I think it would be a great book to spark conversation about the future of our planet. It's also just plain fun to read - lots of very warm family relationships and a mystery to solve, as well.
Yellow looks great in Winter. Sunny and bright. Great look here, Carrie. And the subject of the book would be good to discuss.
ReplyDeleteOh, you look absolutely lovely in yellow! I love bright colors in winter and this just makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteThe earrings are really pretty and the yellow does make the outfit look bright and happy

Thanks, Ally! Gas prices have been dropping, and while as a commuter that makes me happy when filling up, I can't help but think of the long-term consequences of our reliance on fossil fuels.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Gracey! I heard someone who is a makeup artist/stylist recently state that no one looks good in yellow, but I disagree. I think it's a cheery color and life is too short to wear _only_ neutrals.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kat! These earrings are a little bigger and heavier than what I'm used to, so I don't wear them as much as my other pairs. They make great statement earrings, however!
