seersucker skirt: keep or return?

Anchor Blue tee: purchased in Vegas during 2009 vacation

While purchasing the two Land's End Canvas tees I reviewed here, this seersucker skirt ($15) caught my eye. It looked cool and comfortable. Unfortunately, the smallest size I could get was a 4, which seems just a bit big on me - I think a 2 would have been just right.
    Pros:
  • I've been wanting to add some patterned skirts to my closet, and I thought the red stripes were fun for casual warm-weather outfits.
  •   The fabric is lightweight, and the skirt is unlined, but it doesn't appear to be see-through (although I didn't go out into direct sunlight to check). I figure as long as you're not wearing crazily patterned undies, you're good to go (because who wants to wear a slip on a sweltering hot day?)
  •    POCKETS. :)
Cons: I purchased a 4, but I think a size down would have fit me better. It looks a little big, particularly from the side and back. I think it may be possible to slim the sides just a bit.

  1. It is a little big, but if you're confident that you can alter it yourself, I say go for it. It's cute and well, pockets.

  2. I think it looks like a cute non-dressy, weekend sort of skirt. So, if you like that sort of thing, keep it? Basically if you like it and think you'll actually wear it, keep it.

  3. The tee is cute :) I like the stripes on the skirt. From the side it looks a lil big but from the front it looks great :)

  4. Thanks, Kat! I'm still thinking about whether I want to keep this and add it to my pile of stuff to be altered, or just return it. :)

  5. Thanks, Erin. :) I haven't decided yet whether I want a more dressy (is that an oxymoron?) seersucker skirt or whether this will suit my purposes. :)

  6. Thanks, Gracey! :) Yes, pockets on a skirt are always attractive. :)
