Pattern mixing is still a mystery to
me, but I find that sticking to black and white helps me look more cool
vs. circus escapee. (Speaking of pattern mixing, Cori of La Vie Petite gave some great tips here.) It was pouring and chilly the day I put this together, so I
started with the leggings and boots since that's not something I can
wear year-round.
I wore this lace top for last week's Try-it-out Tuesday, and I'll be doing a lot more remixing for February and March, as I've signed up for a two-month shopping ban with Tanvi. I am excited about maximizing what I already own, getting creative, and saving some $$ in the process.
This is gorgeous! So pretty and ladylike, without looking stuffy/old.
ReplyDeleteGreat look Carrie! I have a soft spot for houndstooth!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Erin! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Katie! I've never tried houndstooth before, but it's a classic print and really fun to pair with other items. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit! The houndstooth and the belt and the lace :)!

Thank you, Kat! I think a red belt would have looked great, too, but I don't own one. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is the absolute cutest outfit ever. <3
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is so incredibly beautiful that my frustration at being unable to comment propelled me to get another browser so I could tell you how much I like it. So here I am!
ReplyDeleteYour ensembles are always so stylish and striking.
Thank you, Ally! FYI - which browser allowed you to comment? It'd be good for me to know. :)
ReplyDeleteI love how you've been styling this lace top! It looks so pretty with the hounds-tooth skirt, the lace is almost a neutral but it still adds so much interest with the texture.
ReplyDeleteI had the same problem as Shybiker for w while, I couldn't comment on any blogs with disqu while I was in Internet Explorer Firefox didn't work either but Chrome does pretty decent. (All though it freezes up sometimes with disqu.)
Katie - thank you for the details on the browser! I installed Disqus way back when because I thought the individual-reply feature was great and Blogger didn't have it at the time - but it doesn't seem to match up with Blogger well.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I picked up this top - I think the remixing possibilities are endless. :)
How did I miss this post?! You look fabulous. Definitely one of my favorite looks from you!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Gracey! I think lace + houndstooth is my favorite pattern mix so far. :)
