1. A 3-day weekend. Today is Kamehameha Day here!
2. A delicious lunch on Friday. I am fond of sandwiches in general, even indifferently made ones, but my heart was stolen and my stomach thrilled by one that featured chicken, avocado, and bacon on focaccia. Avocado and bacon = heavenly.
3. Finding a new favorite author -- Neal Stephenson. I just finished "The Diamond Age," and enjoyed Stephenson's dazzling humor, scope, and imagination. Thanks go to Erin for writing it up on her book blog and persuading me to add it to my summer reading list. :)
I was going to comment on how much I like this book, and then I saw the link to my book blog! Yay!

ReplyDeleteYou mentioned sharpies in your previous entry. I've found a cool link for sharpie projects, in case you'd had not enough to do with them.

I was the one who un-mommy-fied you last time. I'd like to retain my right to re-mommy-fie you, should a reason arise.

It seems that I've inadvertently deleted one of my accounts. It happens.
Maria - thanks for the sharpie link! I will check it out. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd you are definitely keeping me on my toes, outfit-wise! :)
Thank you for the recommendation, Erin! Now the hard part is deciding which book of his to read next ...
ReplyDeleteAhh, I know this is a fairly old post, but I'm excited to see that you read The Diamond Age! Stephenson is one of my favorite sci-fi authors: bless the English professor who introduced me to his work.
ReplyDeleteRachel - I usually read more fantasy than sci fi, but Stephenson is amazing. :)
