I'm on full-time grandma-sitting duty this week (which means I'm wearing my plaid Tigger shorts and "My friend went to London and all I got was this lousy T-shirt" top), but Try-it-out Tuesday will resume next week.
I'm writing a 2011 recap and a goals for 2012 post (guess who's a chronic procrastinator?) for this week, but one of my resolutions is to provide my family with one home-cooked meal a week. Here's a look at this week's home-cooked meal:
This is Emeril's recipe for
braised chicken with mushrooms. The chicken thighs need to braise for about an hour, but don't need watching (you can catch up on your blog reading while they cook!)
Happy New Year! :)
I used to cook all the time (and I love to!) but I have been majorly slacking. I need to get on this bandwagon too :)

Happy New Year to you :) That chicken looks yummy and moist :) Was it?

What a yummy and healthy resolution! Still pondering mine ... :)
ReplyDeleteGreat resolution!
ReplyDeleteThis chicken is cooked two different ways -- first, you sear it on each side for 3-4 minutes (what the photo shows). After that, it braises in sauce for an hour, and it does come out very tender!
ReplyDeleteCooking at home saves money and is healthier, so it's a win-win situation. I hope posting occasionally to my blog about what I've cooked will keep me on track. :)
ReplyDeleteI have other resolutions I'd like to set, too. ... but I figure I have until the end of January to get them up and running. :)
ReplyDeleteI think once you get started it won't be so painful. I'm already planning for next week's meal. :)
