American Rag Cie top, Macy's
cardigan, Forever 21
skirt, Banana Republic
Amrita Singh earrings, HauteLook
This outfit has more of a fall feeling going on, with all the deep browns and oranges, but I like it anyhow. I particularly like it because it pairs up two not-worn-enough items in my closet, the skirt and top.
From the ankle brace, you can tell that I wore this outfit weeks ago, right after I sprained my ankle. Unfortunately, my ankle is not 100% yet. I tend to jar or bang it about once each class and that is a sharp reminder that it's not healed. I've been thinking about going back to the doctor, but I'm worried that I'll have to miss out on a month of physical activity. I know that once it's doctor's orders to not exercise, I'd have to follow it, so for now I've decided to not have any doctor's orders to disobey. (Nonsensical, right?) So I've decided to elevate it, walk instead of run, and go to class as usual.
I hope you feel better soon! How did you sprain your ankle? By the way, I'll be mentioning you as the inspiration for my outfit post tomorrow---just a head's up!

Thanks for the head's up, Brittney - you put together a great outfit! :) I really liked those patterned pants.
ReplyDeleteI sprained my ankle while opening my car door ... it buckled and I ended up on the ground. :\ People think that's funny, but according to my sis, it's possible to sprain your ankle while getting out of bed ...
The sprain has taken a loong time to heal, but it's almost back to normal!
Thanks, Kat! When I bought the top, I thought the print was feathers, but they look like eyeballs ... but I still think it's kind of fun. :)
ReplyDeleteYikes, that is the bummer thing about being hurt, you always manage it it it. I've broken my toes a few times and it always seemed like I'd run into everything with it. :P
ReplyDeleteI really like fall colors anytime browns and reds are just too pretty together to regulated to one season. This top actually looks a little bit like leaves with the colors and pattern and your earring have the same look going on!
Thanks, Katie! I'm excited that my ankle is almost back to 100%. Just astounded that the doctor first estimated 7-10 days for healing, as I'm hitting the two-month mark now!
ReplyDeleteFunny you mention breaking your toes ... I'm quite certain that I broke my right baby toe right before the wedding, but I didn't go in to get it checked because I've heard getting it splinted to another toe really affects your balance. It's not crooked and doesn't hurt much, so I'm leaving it be for a few months and betting it will heal nicely on its own. :)
